As part of Monte Alegre Association's commitment to professional development and social integration of immigrant populations in Odemira rural areas, we are currently designing a Portuguese Training for Immigrants in collaboration with "Centro de Emprego de Sines" and "Escola Secundaria de Colos" following the PLA (Português Língua de Acolhimento) approach.
This approach follows a hands-on training with small groups (maximum of 20 students per cohort) in order to provide the basic Portuguese skills that will allow trainees to better communicate with locals, as well as improve their integration conditions. As per the PLA guidelines, successful completion of the training program will provide participants with an official language certificate, recognized by the Government of Portugal.
Monte Alegre Association will provide additional resources and assistance to a selection of participants, facilitating dinner, child care, or transportation, as needed. As per Monte Alegre Association values and objectives, the course will aim to be 50% women, 50% men, in order to reduce the gender gap also present among immigrant populations.
If you have any questions regarding the training program, or you are interested in participating in Monte Alegre Association PLA Training, please send us an email to info@montealegre.co
